Mr Valdes has been President of PhilWeb Corporation since 2006 and has presided over the expansion of the company’s existing Internet Casino Stations and Internet Sports Betting Stations. He has also developed and launched new games of chance such as Premyo Sa Resibo, among others.
Prior to joining PhilWeb, Mr Valdes held various posts at the Inquirer Group of Companies whose products include the Philippines largest circulation broadsheet newspaper. While there he launched Cebu Daily News and created a joint venture with GMA Network Inc, the largest TV station in the Philippines to develop an integrated news website – www.inq7.net. Mr Valdes was simultaneously Executive Vice President of FEP Printing Corporation and President of Alliance Media Printing, Lexmedia Digital Corporation and Newspaper Paraphernalia.
Mr Valdes started his career at Procter & Gamble in the Philippines, moving on to be Financial Controller of CityTrust Investment Bank then regional sales and marketing roles at the NutraSweet Company from 1990-1996.
Mr Valdes holds an MBA from Kellogg School of Management and a BSc in Business Administration and Accountancy from the University of the Philippines.
