This special half-day masterclass will look at the legal structures for product fees (concentrating on race fields laws), the commercial impacts of different approaches to calculating the fees in different States and Territories in Australia and overseas, the effectiveness of the legal regimes, the impact for overseas operators, other IP regimes that might be used, any potential national funding model and current and future developments.  By participating in this workshop, you will have the opportunity to discuss with experts:

-           the likely outcomes and impacts for existing product fee models,
-           what it means for gambling operators,
-           what other changes might be introduced in the future.


Bill Brown, Special Counsel, Lander & Rogers
After being admitted to legal practice in Victoria in 1983, Bill has held a range of legal and senior management roles in private practice and in-house.  He is a seasoned legal executive with broad Australian and international experience in the provision of commercial legal advice, with particular expertise in the gambling sector. His experience in the gambling/entertainment/leisure sectors commenced in 1992 with Aristocrat.  
Bill's current practice involves corporate and commercial advice to clients on a range of transactions from the small to the large.  His clients include SME's and listed companies, both Australian and international.  His experience with gaming regulatory agencies is Australia is distinctive.  He also has experience in policy and legislative development, having played a leading industry role in reform of the anti-money laundering and counter terrorism financing laws in Australia.
Bill is a past President of the Queensland division of the Australian Corporate Lawyers Association and has held positions on ACLA’s national board of directors and the NSW division committee.  Bill is a member and past trustee of the International Association of Gaming Advisors, as well as being a professional member of ACAMS and a member of ACAMS' Australasian chapter executive.  He is also the independent member of the Crown Limited Gaming Compliance Committee.

Anthony Seyfort, Partner, Lander & Rogers
Anthony Seyfort has worked in or advised the gambling industry for the last 17 years.  He is a Partner of Lander & Rogers, Australian Lawyers, specialising in gambling and AML law.
He was foundation company secretary of Australia's Crown Limited (1993 – 1998) after working over 12 months on the acquisition of Crown's Melbourne casino licence.  Since then he has undertaken special project work for most of Australia's major gambling businesses and many offshore businesses, investors and suppliers.  This has encompassed licence renewals, dealings with government and regulators, and devising innovative regulatory solutions.
While practising nationally (and in the region), he is based in Victoria which is the epicentre of the current wave of reform in Australia's licensing and regulatory liberalisation. 
Anthony is a professional member of the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) and is a legal adviser to the Australasian Casino Association (ACA) and the Australian Internet Bookmakers Association (AIBA)
